The mattress is about 4 years old. It cost $400 new. It is a fibre filled mattress. When the fibres are fully water saturated which takes ~ 3 days the mattress is one of the firmest lowest movement water mattresses made. Waterbeds are the most comfortable mattress there is. The water - flotation principle means all parts of your body have equal pressure on every square inch. No spring mattress can equal this for comfort. And the water "springs" can't wear out or sag. Because water beds have a heater they are always warm and cozy to climb into. In summer I lower the waterbed temperature 2 deg and the waterbed helps cool me. I have slept on various waterbeds for many years and like them. My wife likes waterbeds except for the movement which bothered her.
